SOUTH INDIA TOUR PACKAGES

Day 1
Depart on your scheduled flight to Cochin.

Day 2
Early morning arrival. Transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. This afternoon we include a boat ride in Cochin harbour. This evening there will be a special display of Kathakali Classical Dance.

Day 3
Cochin is the cosmopolitan capital of Kerala. The picturesque harbour, houses on stilts, islands and backwaters give this city a unique atmosphere. No wonder Cochin is often referred to as the 'Venice of the East'. A morning city tour is included featuring the main sights such as the Jewish Quarter, the Dutch Palace and St. Francis Church.

Day 4
Morning drive through rice paddies, tea plantations, rubber trees and gardens of coffee, cardomom and pepper plants. The aroma of spices fills the air. Afternoon arrival in Periyar, near Thekkady, where two nights' accommodation has been arranged.

This evening you will explore the fascinating Periyar Game Reserve by motor launch. The convoluted waterways afford sightings of elephants, bison and deer. All manner of flora and fauna flourish in this tropical habitat, making it one of the premier reserves of southern India.

Day 5
This morning, join an optional morning boat ride in the game reserve. This afternoon we include a visit to a spice plantation and there will be an evening nature walk in the game reserve with a local guide.

Day 6
Depart Periyar for the drive to Alleppey for an overnight stay on one of the famous houseboats. Kerala’s houseboats, known as kettuvalloms, offer the chance for an unforgettable night in traditional surroundings, with splendid views of the palm-fringed backwaters.

Day 7
Leaving the houseboat you will travel to Kumarakom, a tiny settlement nestling in the famous backwaters of Kerala. Two nights’ accommodation has been arrranged. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8
Today you will visit a fisherman's village and local market. You will also see coir and coconut farms and fragrant spice gardens. The backwaters are also home to a wealth of birdlife including kingfishers, cormorants and egret. A typical keralan lunch is included today.

Day 9
Depart Kumarakom by coach for the drive to Kovalam and its magnificent beach, for a two night stay.

Day 10
Free to enjoy this stunning coastline. You can stroll on the beach and watch the fishermen laboriously pull in the huge nets which they lay across the entire bay.

Day 11
Transfer to Trivandrum Airport for the return flight.

Day 1
Arrive COCHIN– check in at Hotel – After fresh up proceed for city Tour- visit Jewish Synagogue / Dutch Palace / St.Francis Church / Santa Cruz Basilica / Chinese Fishing Nets and later board a boat for sunset backwater cruise. Return to city for shopping at 7pm.

Day 2
After breakfast check out to proceed to NELLIAMPATHY- Arrive and check in at a resort adjacent to forest- Afternoon visit seethargund ; a beautiful view point – rest of the day free to relax.

Day 3
After breakfast proceed by Jeep to church Hill – return for lunch- rest awhile and trek into forest by evening to spot Sambar Deer / Bison & wild boars – overnight stay in TENT pitched near a lake with fire around to prevent animals coming near – overnight in TENT.

Day 4
After Breakfast check out to proceed to a beautiful Bird sanctuary – Arrive at THATTEKKAD and check in at the resort- afternoon visit the lovely Bird sanctuary to spent hours watching rare species of birds namely: CRIMSON THROATED BARBET / SUNBIRD / FAIRY BLUE BIRD / GREY HEADED FISHING EAGLE / NIGHT HERON / MALABAR HORNBILL so on and so forth – overnight at resort.


Day 5
After breakfast proceed for a deep jungle 4hr trek – return to resort for lunch – evening proceed for Boating in the dam – a breathtaking view of the Flora around- overnight in resort.

Day 6
After Breakfast check out to proceed to KONNI yet another great place to experience Flora and Fauna – check in at the resort – evening take a bath in the crystal clear water flowing through the forest.

Day 7
After breakfast proceed for a rollicking jeep safari over rocks/boulders through streams and river and arrive on the bank of the famous river where packed lunch will be served- after resting for a while trek into jungle to have glimpse of one of the finest forest area in kerala and also see 2500 yrs old temple in ruin up on the hill- return by late evening to resort.

Day 8
After breakfast check out to proceed to THEKKADY – Arrive thekkady and check in at hotel- visit one of the most interesting view points in kerala where one could see two states from a top 1550 ft high. Rest of the day free to relax.

Day 9
After an early tea proceed to the base camp to start the Bamboo rafting – A Dawn to Dusk Eco friendly programme accompanied by armed gaurds where one will trek for 2hrs and then raft thro the periyar catchment area to reach probably the most interesting jungle of the entire tour- packed breakfast will be served enroute – while you trek you will come across a variety of wild animals – packed lunch will be served on the banks of the lake- return to base camp by 5pm and will end this great programme with Tea and snacks- ( Max of 6 pax in 2 rafts )- return to resort for a good night sleep.

Day 10
After Breakfast check out to drive straight to Airport to catch flight back home.

Pick up from Cochin, Transfer To Munnar Sightseeing of Cheeyappara Water Falls, Valara Water Falls and Attukkadu Water Falls on your way.
